I've left it in unwashed condition ~ and when I photographed it, I can see the pale discoloration in the middle, but in person I don't see it! ~ It should be able to be soaked and washed out as it's only faint , but emphasized by the digital photography ( this happens sometimes when photographing red digitally also! ) I have a 30 day return policy, so if you receive and it doesn't work for any reason, you can just pop it back. ~ ~Wonderful for collecting or lovely too used as wall art! ~*~ ~ it's a stunning piece!
