Most of my inventory comes from mixed lots of anything from brand new, unopened items to damaged devices. I sell on everything that is in good condition, repair anything that can be fixed, and the rest is sold as parts.Unfortunately, the electronics repair industry has been dying for several decades. Schematics are rarely available and almost never released by the manufacturer. Parts are labeled with nonstandard codes, which make them impossible to identify, or are not labeled at all. Most parts are also restricted from sale to anyone other than the manufacturer. In addition, main components are often serialized to specific boards. If one of these gets damaged, replacing it won't work. The replacement part doesn't have the same serial number as the board, so the device will lock itself into an inoperable state.
