Description: Unusual early 70's Vintage "Elvish" brand French bicycle frame & fork. The brand has supposedly been out there since 1883, but there's very little information on line other than a few threads on "bikeforums.net". 61 cm c-c seat tube, 60 cm c-c top tube. 68mm BSA threaded bottom bracket and BSA threaded fork (a definite anomaly for a French bike of this era, but it makes finding parts a lot easier!). 26.0 mm seatpost diameter. Built with Durifort "Extra Light" tubing, and Simplex forged dropouts with eyelets for racks or fenders. Paint and chrome socks on forks and stays are in poor condition, with lots of scratches and spots rust, but rust doesn't appear to be too deep or causing any structural issues. Underside of the chainstays are a bit dinged by a kickstand at some point. This is an unusual frame, and I'm putting it up to see if there's any interest as a restoration project... You certainly aren't likely to see or find another, and who can resist owning a genuine "Elvish!"
