I create this quilted potholders with four layers—top layer is the beautiful patterned 100% cotton fabric, next layer is 100% cotton batting, third and fourth layers are made from a multilayer silver metallic heat resistant fabric is the bottom layer in a quilted diamond pattern. This heat resistant fabric is layered with the content breakdown as--Face: 100% Cotton; Filling: 87.7% Cotton, 7.5% Rayon, 4.8% Polyester; Back/bottom: 100% Olefin. Olefin is another name for polypropylene fiber. Polypropylene is the chemical name given to the compound we know as the textile, olefin. Chemically speaking, polypropylene sounds like a complicated process, but is in fact a greener fabric than cotton, wool, silk, or rayon. Olefin's advantages are its strength, colorfastness, and its resistance to mildew, abrasion, fire, and water. Machine Wash Cold, Delicate Cycle, No Chlorine Bleach, Tumble Dry Low, Remove Promptly. Press with a low heat iron setting to flatten for easier storage.
