This print has never been been hung or displayed, and has been stored flat in its original condition since the day of its printing, over 80 years ago. To find a piece in this condition is rare, a true gem! The second in a series of six beautifully detailed Gould Hummingbird lithographs currently being offered, this print depicts two green backed hummingbirds with spotted white breasts on large pink flowers. Printed on a cream toned paper with crisp, vibrant colors, these delicate and exquisitely detailed floral hummingbirds will matt and frame beautifully. AGE: c. 1940 CONDITION: EXCELLENT! Provenance This piece hails from a collection of vintage artwork that I acquired from a print dealer in the late 1990s. Long retired by the time I met him, he still had a vast collection of lithographs and etchings from the 1930s and 1940s, all of which he had purchased directly from the publisher during that time period. Most still remained in their original paper packaging - untouched! By the time I came into his collection, it had been stored flat and sealed for almost 50 years. I had my own eBay art business for a time before moving on to other things, and once again these pieces were placed in storage for another 20+ years. I am now downsizing and looking to liquidate my remaining collection. This is a rare opportunity to own an authentic piece of history that has truly withstood the test of time.
