I was fortunate enough to purchase a gorgeous lace collection that consists of 3 generations of handkerchiefs and lace. There are 2 that are colonial era late 1700s-1800s. Then there’s more from about 1860s-1910s. Then the newest are from around the 30s. Take a peek. Some you may never have an opportunity to purse as they are museum quality. ______ Then there’s the linens!! My table is full of turn of the century table linens and towels- most monogrammed. Hankies and napkin sets. I had a customer once scold me for taking the fun out of vintage linens by soaking and pressing them. And to leave them as found as it’s part of the fun for a buyer to bring such beauties back to life. So that’s what I do. You get them exactly as they came out of the estate. With age toning and sometimes spots. Holes - if too large I save for a cutter lot. They are usually always shown. Most just need a good soak and pressing. Now is the time to start thinking about Christmas. You’ve got plenty of time to find and rescue the perfect vintage items for gifts rather than the alternative. I know my favorites are always something old. Lastly, the ribbon. Gorgeous silks. More than gorgeous lace. Finally… lol…I will continue to list more gorgeous antique christening gowns, petticoats, dresses and embroidered accessories. Im hoping to get through this estate acquisition this week as I have more coming. Ask questions- have fun, and make a cup o’joe and do some window shopping! I forgot to mention that Im teaching my son the biz and he’s now selling more of my inventory! Check out Elizabeth_and_Jack and follow them for more great antique and vintage goods that you’ve learned to love and trust from me, Lori, at thepottingshed.
