Description: A Classical Tour Through Italy John Eustace 3 Volumes from 1841. Complete with map & illustrated. A lovely early set of 3 complete volumes of John Eustace's tour through Italy. These volumes would accompany the aristocrats and gentry of 19th Century Britain as they embarked on the Italian leg of their Grand Tour around Europe. The three volumes have brown calf covers with fading gilt decorative borders and spine with raised bands and attractive marbled edges and endpapers. The 3 copies have indented, gilted raised emblem of the 'Mill Hill School' (a UK boarding school) on the front cover and a school name plate inside each edition as they were awarded as a prize. The covers show a little wear to edges and marks to front but still show well. Spines of Volume 1 & 3 are still intact and study, but Volume 2 is starting to come away, but the pages are still secure. Internal pages are in a very good condition with some tanning but mostly clean & bright. Volume I - 342pp, Volume II - 394pp, Volume III - 416pp. Size: 7.5 x 5".
