George Miller was born in Monroe, Michigan in 1904 and attended the Art Institute of Chicago beginning in 1923. Miller was one of the three official photographers for the 1933-34 Chicago World's Fair, The Century of Progress. After the Worlds Fair, he opened his own photography agency called “Photography Inc.” Miller became a painter as well as a photography instructor at the Art Institute of Chicago. He exhibited his artwork at the museum's Annual Exhibitions, as well. A renaissance man, Miller designed numerous patents for cameras and other photographic equipment. His paintings typically show a Modernist, linear technique and often depict city scenes and urban landscapes. Miller died in 1984 in Pinellas County, FL at the age of 80. mbr2.3
