Description: This is a strange one. Its a period engraving of the execution of Louis 16th. This image created and printed in the late 1790's has a platemark measuring 6 3/4X4 1/4 inches on a sheet size of 8 1/2X5 inches. This is a historic impression done on a very early laid type sheet. For its age its in very good condition. The sheet has been tipped to a backing sheet probably in the late 19th century. a few minor spots of toning but overall in very good shape, the image is quite clear and detailed.
