Description: A Luxurious Woman's Cloak made in Uzbekistan in the Late 19th century This garment, known as a chyrpy or faranji, is a traditional overgarment worn in public by women in Central Asia, consisting of a jacket-like cloak with false sleeves. It is draped over the head or shoulders and covers the woman’s entire body. The false arms are worn in the back and are distinctive to women’s garments. It is unusual to find one made of such a luxurious brocade. The Overgarment is made with beautiful green and gold silk brocade and a printed cotton lining.
