Description: Abingdon Art Pottery was made from 1934 until 1950. The Abingdon Pottery Factory in Abingdon, IL had made porcelain bathroom fixtures for years but when the Depression hit, the factory changed over to high quality display art pottery until the building boom of the 1950s when returning war veterans were seeking homes and a construction boom began. This pottery is known to be water tight and never leaks, never leaves damp spots on surfaces. Thus it is a bit thicker and heavier than other pottery made during that same period. The candleholder stands 4.25" tall at the highest point and the lower part is 1.75" tall. The base is 3" x 4.25". At the time of this listing I will be listing 4 other Abingdon pieces--2 vases, 2 bowls--in the same general blue color family. If they were made at different times, the final glaze may have been slightly different. Check them out in my store if you are interested in expanding your collection. I am happy to combine shipping as long as the items can be safely shipped in the same box.
