Description: Rare and beautiful ruby cut to clear pitcher in Almond Thumbprint cut pattern. Early American Period Cut Glass. Made by Brooklyn Flint Glass Works Company, according to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, ca. 1850-1855. This item only has one small chip, (see the last three pictures) also wear/scratches at the bottom base otherwise in excellent condition. There are no cracks at the applied handle. Ruby cut to clear, 32 almond thumbprints, 6 cut flutes at the neck, stair cut at the mouth and spout, cut notch at the top of the handle, 16 cut star at the bottom, also weighs 4 1/2 pounds. The flint glass pings nicely when tapped. 12 inches tall, 6 3/4 long from spout to handle, 3 3/4 base diameter. Thank you.
