Description: ***PLEASE NOTE: We should our items magnified and larger than actual to illustrate detail. Please refer to the listing details below for actual measurements.*** This is one of the remaining items of Gary Yellow Corn we have remaining. This large pillow vase measures 8 1/4" tall by 7 1/2" at widest. Opening at the top 3 1/4" The base measures 4 7/8" across by 2 1/2" wide. Horsehair pottery is a technique whereby at the time of firing horsehair is added. The result is unique pattern upon the pottery. There are nuances that are not defective but a part of the firing process. Many enjoy horsehair pottery as no two pieces will ever be alike. This vase is rather unique in that there are two separate designs on each side. One side features a warrior and the other looks like a deer. These images and carvings resemble those often seen on petroglyphs that the ancient ones carved into rock as a means of communication. This pillow vase weighs almost 2 pounds unwrapped. It does have some weight. It is new, never owned only displayed in a retail store. I try to think of most details however should you have a question please message.
