Description: Authentic Original Circa 1920 Pack Basket From An Adirondack Mountains Camp One of the oldest traditions inside the Adirondack Park, pack baskets were used to carry the heavy loads needed for hunting, fishing, camping, trapping and other outdoor pursuits in the mountain wilderness. This Adirondack pack basket was made locally in the mountains circa 1920, and is in complete original condition. Traditional tough wood splint woven design, made from solid ash wood splints with original tan canvas harness and beautiful original patinaed natural brown finish. The thickness and strength of the wood construction allows it to easily stand freely its own. This will be a great decorator item for your Adirondack camp or home theme. This is the epitome of Adirondack style decorating! Measuring 15" X 14" across the top and stands 19" tall to the top of the wood handle, also made from rounded steam bent ash. All of the splints on the body are generally solid and intact, with only a few of the splints minimally cracked. Vintage as is with wear as would be expected - please see pictures. Appropriate signs of age, strong, sturdy, and fully functional.
