But how could it be possible for generations of serious scholars to have erred to such an extent? It is precisely this question that the third part of the book - its supplement - deals with. Here the foundations of Egyptian chronology, above all astronomical chronology, are carefully examined. Moreover, in addition to the original content of this book, we have incorporated a very revealing article by Velikovsky on what radiocarbon dating has to say about his findings. The striking clarity of the depicted facts and the extremely important contributions in the supplement make this book a work of exceptional importance, which is still waiting for the definitive response that is long overdue from the part of the historical sciences.
