Description: Rare original antique engraving print from an 1860s illustrated journal. This antique print shows a long panoramic of the fishing village of Unalakleet, Alaska. Inupiat villagers are ice fishing. Beautiful panoramic view. Unalakleet is now a city in Nome Census Area, Alaska, United States. It resides right next to the Bering Sea at the Norton Sound end of the Unalakleet-Kaltag Portage, an important winter travel route between Norton Sound and the Yukon River. Unalakleet has long been a major trade center between the Athabascans who lived in the interior of Alaska and the Inupiat who lived on the coast. The print is very large (folio size), measuring approximately 11 x 5.25 inches (28 x 27 cm). The picture fills most of it, measuring about 13.5 x 4.5 inches, with a caption below it. The page is in excellent condition for its age. There is text/photos on the back of the print. See scan for an accurate view of the condition. This print will come with a Certificate of Authenticity.
