Description: Allegheny Freight Lines trucking company patch This patch is likely a “Tom Gibney/Toy Truck Lines” replica patch, a “plastic” backing. A Trademark is good for 10 years unless renewed. In the late 1990’s, since these companies had been out of business for some time, Tom evidently paid for their renewal and rights. He sold them for $10 each and I believe he also permitted their use on toy trucks. His rights to the trademark were cancelled around 2005. Currently there is someone having reproductions of these made in the Philippines and they, and others, are now selling them, often noted as a “Promo” patch. This patch is from a collection I bought, and I have the original of it and am reselling it. I share this information so that a potential buyer knows it is not likely one issued by the actual trucking company.
