Description: Welcome! Thank you for stopping by. Offered here is a handsome 1960's Delbana Watch Co chronograph, fit for a watch collector, admirer of vintage items, or simply as an everyday watch. Fully serviced, keeping time and warrantied. Offered as Buy-it-now.Delbana was founded in Switzerland in the 1930's aiming to produce high quality yet affordable watches. Delbana follows the mid-century, post-war trend of small scale and small volume watch brands. Companies like Nivada, Felsa, Mimo, Yema, and even Wittnauer were far smaller than the likes of Omega, Rolex, Longines, Bulova, Universal Geneve, IWC and Heuer. With the exception of the brands who offered watches with their own inhouse movements, these large and small watch companies relied on a same cohort of movement (ebauches) manufacturers. This Delbana Watch Co Chronograph is a prime example of the little guy trying to get a small bite out of the watch-pie, sourcing reliable movements from the likes of A Schild and, in this case, Landeron, for their many lines of watches.Movement: Well maintained, this exceptional piece runs on an unmarked Landeron 48 calibre movement, featuring 17 jewels. The Landeron 48 was the workhorse of many mid-century chronographs, in production from 1937 to the 1970s. The calibre 48 was the first true cam-switching chronograph movement. Measuring at 13.75 ligne, the movement is fully serviced and keeping superb time!Dial and Hands: The original vintage dial is in superb condition! Untouched, it is honestly in near perfect condition. I tried my best to photograph it in all its glory. Please reach out for more photos if you're interested. Hour and minute hands retain original lume and are blued steel, as are the seconds counter and chrono minute counter. The chrono seconds is red, with some paint missing near the center, but overall lovely condition! Case: The case is in original untouched condition. Marked 'Delbana Watch Swiss Made' on the inside face of the stainless steel caseback, the case is about 35mm diameter and in excellent vintage condition, made of chromed brass with most of the chrome still intact - please see check out the photos! Strap: New silver-grey nato strapShipping: Free domestic shipping at buy-it-now price, otherwise $15; $35 internationally.Warranty: 3 month mechanical warranty valid for buy-it-now priced purchases and subject to assessment and approval. Warranty is for mechanical failure only. No cosmetic comments will be honored. Best-offer items do not come with warranty.Return Policy: Returns accepted upon notification of intent, if item is not as described (IOW, returns not acceptable if you change your mind) and within 3 days of receipt of item, less cost of shipping. We focus our collection on military watches from WW1, both American brands like Waltham and Elgin, as well as Swiss made trench watches and a special fondness for Borgel cased examples. So great is our love for trench watches, we make our own period correct straps in multiple styles. Please see our other listings. In addition, we love vintage watches from later decades up to the 1960's, tracing the evolution of the wrist watch from a military technology to an everyday accessory. Our emphasis is mainly in no-name brands for everyday wearing, but also include a focus on Gruen and Tissot watches. Lastly, our obsession includes chronographs and Rolex bubblebacks from the 40's-60's. Our approach to repair is almost exclusively sympathetic, meaning that we will service the movement and leave all of the patina of the dial and cases untouched. We do not polish our cases, or have on very rare occasions. In most cases, the original crystal is retained and if needed only hand polished (plastic crystals only). Our preference is to retain as much of the patina of the watches that we acquire. Cases are cleaned of dirt and grime, crystals are buffed (if possible) and dials are only minimal touched, if at all. For big.business.time, this is the true essence of vintage watches and we hope you share in our enjoyment!Thank you for looking!
