Description: ACCEPTING OFFERS: Original c.1850 sixth-plate (1/6) daguerreotype showing a little boy holding what I believe is the 31-star medallion printed American flag, celebrating the addition of California to the Union. A smal table is partially visible to the right. The flag is hand-tinted (his socks and hat band also retain a bit of red color) and is on a striped pole. California represented by the largest star in the center. See listing pic #2 for a photo of the 31-star flag (found online; shown here for comparison purposes only). This daguerreotype was found at a garage sale in Carmichael, California. Dag comes in half of its original case and is unsealed, but is in very good condition with some tarnish and light fuzz trapped under the glass.. I do not see any issues of note to the plate other than a small cluster of copper corrosion specks to the left of his elbow. Express / Overnight shipping, carrier TBD. Please contact me with any questions. 7623a
