The American Airlines Chicago Blues style china pattern designed for Swid Powell by the firm Gwathmey Siegel references the distinctive patterns of Frank Lloyd Wright’s leaded glass windows. The Chicago Blue pattern was adopted for American Airlines, using the American Airlines logo, distributed by WESSCO International. Swid Powell continued to produce fine, fashionable homewares throughout the decade and beyond. This auction is for a brand new, old stock set of American Airlines advertising first class dinnerware, cup and saucer set. This set is based on the Swid Powell Dinner Set "Chicago Blues", a very exclusive pattern as shown by the picture above. Condition of this fine chine, brand new, old stock, NEVER USED!
