Description: Handmade Lampwork glass beads are made one at a time by heating a cane or rod of glass over a flame torch and then applying the molten glass around a mandrel. The bead is held over the flame while it is worked on and cooled slowly to strengthen the glass. It takes a lot of skill to keep the bead from losing its shape and the adding of other colors in swirls or flowers demands much concentration. These are so perfectly round that they look like marbles. Bead is made of clear glass with stripes of blue, teal and rose around the center. Colors in the photos above are fairly accurate.
