Description: (87) This listing is for a Beautiful Antique (c mid 1800s) item of Indian Historical Collectable - A Large Circular Heavily Decorated Hand Chased Brass Benares Tray / Platter. It's base features Two Interlaced Squares, which form an Eight Pointed Star design, the squares being inset with delicate quatrefoil designs. It has a decorative floriate and frond patterned centre, and two lightly decorated outer bands. It is 50.8cm diameter x approximately 2cm high, and it weighs 1.69 kilos. It has a high polish brass lustre patina, and it would make a most impressive item of home décor, being suited to not only use as a serving tray, but also perhaps utilised as a table top, or a decorative wall hanging.
