It includes regular issue and specialty cards from Topps, Upper Deck, Leaf, Score, Donruss, Panini, Fleer, Stadium Club, Bowman, Ultra, and more. There are some premiums, inserts and oddballs. After hours of sorting, this lot has been created with just this one single grouping. This lot includes only PITTSBURGH PIRATES Baseball cards and they are all of ANDY VAN SLYKE. This lot has a very low starting bid and the postal cost has also been kept low. ANDY VAN SLYKE was a 13 season outfielder, predominantly for the St Louis Cardinals and Pittsburgh Pirates. Selected as an All-Star three times, Andy won five Gold Gloves on defense and two Silver Slugger Awards as well. He coached with the Tigers from 2006-2009 and the Seattle Mariners in 2014 & '15. Overall Van Slyke hit .274 with 164 home runs and 792 RBI. He was a first round pick (6th overall) in the 1979 MLB Draft. Early in his career he played some first and third base and was moved to rightfield on the strength of his arm. In Pittsburgh he mostly played center alongside Barry Bonds and Bobby Bonilla. Van Slyke was known as a fan favorite and an outstanding post season performer. This is one of those unique auctions where I can't honestly say I know what the market price will bring. This lot of cards was created from cards given to me as part of a huge collection of over 1250 boxes of Baseball cards. There are some complete sets, some boxes of wax, foil, or cello packs, some are rack packs and there are a zillion loose cards.
