Description: This is a collection of old cigarette cards that were printed in Great Britain in 1925. These seven cards are from the 1939 series ANNUALS, which was issued by Godfrey Phillips tobacco. For those who are not familiar with them, cigarette cards have been printed by various tobacco companies for more than 130 years.There have been a very wide variety of such cards, including sports cards (like the famous T206 Honus Wagner card), furniture cards, buildings, historical scenes, art and artists, automobiles, military, scientists, inventions, coats of arms, flowers, ships, and so forth.These cards were included with the cigarettes as a free promotional item, in the same way as boxes of cereal frequently have free toys, stickers, etc.These cards are about 2.7" by 1.4".
