Description: This item was used as a cosmetic powder jar that was made by the Unger Brothers. According to my research, Unger was a jewelry company in Newark, New Jersey from 1872-1910. They were best known for their sterling silver Art Nouveau designs. The design on the cap is called "Secret of the Flowers" and is circa 1904. Supposedly this was one pattern that the Ungers became famous for. The glass is heavy and has 10 panels. There are 3 fleabites at the top and 1 at the bottom. The interior lip has numerous small chips. Otherwise it is clear and in very good condition The decorative cap is engraved: (Maker's mark) Sterling 925 Fine (Maker's mark) PAT. JUNE 23 1903 0790 The cap has many indentations around its perimeter. Also, compared with other similar items I've seen online, the pattern on this one seems to be smoothed out, or not as detailed as it probably was when it was made. The cap with numerous holes that allow the powder to be shaken out is in fine condition except for one tiny dent along an edge. It is 4.75" tall. The bottom circumference is 1.75"The sterling cap circumference is 2 & 7/8"It weighs 8.6 ounces
