Description: Up for sale is this lovely antique 1839 manuscript poetry & art book belonging to one Abel Wagstaff. The book is softcover, bound in marbled paper covers. It consists of 15 leaves, all of which have handwritten or hand painted content. The content is on the rectos only. The first leaf has an ornate handwritten calligraphy title page. Six of the pages have original watercolor paintings, two of which are in color, the others are in black and white. The remaining 8 pages contain handwritten poems. Most of the pages are detached from the binding, the rest are only tentatively attached by one binding string. The covers are mostly just acting as a portfolio for the pages. All of the pages are depicted in the photos. The book is folio-sized, measuring approximately 15 inches high and 9 5/8 inches high. It is British in origin.
