Description: Antique 1860s Victorian Brown Silk Full Length Skirt With Bows and Train AS IS. No details were spared on this authentic 1860s full length voluminous skirt. It is made from a stiff brown silk with a slight sheen. The front of the skirt is straight while the back is pleated into the waistband for added volume. The bottom 12 inches of the skirt are decorating with dark brown ribbon and bows. The hemline features a ruffled scolloped trim of fabric. The skirt has a dramatic train. There is a left side seam opening with two hooks & eyes for closure. Only the bottom 17 inches of the skirt are lined with a coated cotton. There are ribbons sewn on the interior of the skirt to hold the cage crinoline in place. There is a pocket on the right side seam. This piece is in very good condition considering its age there are a few small holes throughout the skirt. The silk is shattering in a couple places as pictured. The front of the skirt has a light gray discoloration also pictured. The lining is shredding primarily at the center back where the train drags on the floor.
