Description: Offering an antique, very rare hard cover children's book printed in 1889. This is one of the PANSY books, meaning it was edited by a woman who went by the name, "Pansy". The book is entitled, Young Folks Stories of American History and Home Life. This is also the First Series of these books, and was published in Boston by D. Lothrop Company. The book has hard boards and they measure 7 1/2" X 10". Each end has a great color graphic. The covers are well connected to the spine, but they have tears, bumped edges, and surface soiling. The pages inside are all there with no tears or scribbles, but heavily age toned to a deep ecru. I think these pages were cut by hand as the edges are not all even. There are many wonderful engravings of events and people of the time. On the inner fly, the little boy who was given this book, penciled in his name (Carl Christianson) the place, (Minneapolis Minnesota) and the date he received it, (Dec 25, 1894). FREE DOMESTIC SHIPPING! This book is 128 years old, in well used condition, and sold as is. inkFrog Analytics
