Description: For sale is a figurine of Asia and Africa made by Fuerstenberg in the 18th century . A very well modeled and hand painted figurine of a great topic. The piece shows Asia represented by a putti with a turban next to him and Africa represented by a putto wearing an elephant head dress and holding some kind of torch. On the base there is a lion next to them. The figure is 6 inches tall, 4.75 inches wide and 4.5 inches deep. It is not marked but definitely made by them! The piece is in great condition with the elephant trunk on the headdress missing, a chip to a finger on Africa's left hand as well as a missing thumb on that hand and a minor chip to the base rim.
