One elephant has a broken tail tip but it's not too noticeable; if you shake it you can hear a tiny piece rattling inside. Each bookend measures approx. 6" x 3" x 5" & the pair together weighs 5 lbs. 4 oz. Uncertain of metal composition but they feel weighty like cast iron but have a bronze tone coat w/ painted tusks. Underside of one has its original green felt padding while the other has none. Overall they're in good shape for being over 100 years old and they do display well as a pair.
