Description: Offering an antique Chinese, hand carved soapstone, double brush pot for artists. This beautiful sculpture features two pots for washing the brushes used in calligraphy. Alternatively, the smaller one is sometimes used to hold the ink and the larger one to hold the brushes. The two pots are bridged by a carved trellis of leaves and flowers, and the smoother parts of stone are etched with a floral pattern. The soapstone is a shade of burnt orange and pale olive green, randomly spotted with splashes of black. The piece measures 8" in length, 3 1/4" at the widest part and 3" tall at the highest part. This is a natural stone and the artist went with the flow of the rock, incorporating the material's dips and flaws, into his design. There are no chips or cracks or repairs.
