Description: *ANTIQUE ADVERTISING* tin litho c1905 whiskey "J.C. STEVENS 'OLD JUDSON' MATCH SAFE" Photos represent the actual merchandise for sale. This lithographed tin advertisement was made in the USA circa 1905 for the "J.C. Stevens Company" of Kansas City Missouri to promote "Old Judson" whiskey. This item was created as an advertisement in the form of a wall-mounted metal Match Safe. The front features a colorful and detailed scene of a man coming in dripping wet from a lightning storm to the comfort of his home. He is greeted by a hearth fire with his wife removing his overcoat and his daughter bringing him a glass of Old Judson whiskey. This original American collectible was a made by the Savage Manufacturing Company of Brooklyn New York with artwork by Foster M.Reeder. The Match Safe measures 5" tall " x 3 1/2" wide x 1 1/4" deep and features a built-in striker below the match bin. Signs of wear include some scratches, corrosion, and paint loss but the condition is uncommonly good for a piece of this age with bright colors and crisp graphics. Please study photos for your best assessment of condition.
