Description: Beautiful antique Armenian embroidered textile cover. Probably 19th century. Woven on three hand loomed indigo panels with an overall elaborately embroidered geometric lattice design. It may be Marash work, but according to the Armenian Museum, this type of dense embroidery is usually from Malatya.Good condition for age with minor embroidery thread loss, some minor stains, some edge/border wear and holes with some of it backed with navy or black fabric that is coming off in places, two small holes in center that were patched with navy iron-on fabric, the largest is 5/16” x 11/16” and the other is 3/16” round.
