Description: Here comes a beautiful bouncing baby girl by Hertel Schwab, circa 1900! She has a lovely bisque head. Black light exam reveals no defects and no repairs to the nice pale pink head. The bisque is that wonderful old-time grainy bisque that we love. Baby girl has a beautiful face with working blue detailed sleep-eyes, and finely painted upper and lower lashes. Her light brown brows have nine feathered strokes. Her nose is nicely molded and has detailed nostrils. Her cheeks are very nicely blushed and quite chubby. She has a lovely dimpled double-chin! Baby has a beautifully painted cupid's bow open mouth, with tongue and four white porcelain upper teeth. There is some oven dust on the pink porcelain on the right upper face extending to the right eye. There is one wig pull. The left blushed cheek has some small slight scratches to the paint in what I believe were thumb-sucking attempts! On the back of the neck is incised Made in Germany in beautiful script and 152 / 8 1/2. We love our chunky babies, and this babe has a nice, chunky pink composition body. The five-jointed composition body is nicely strung, and in good, sturdy, antique condition. Please see our detained photographs. The hands have some wear, which is not unusual at all in a doll of this age. The left thumb and first finger on the left hand are worn and have been over-painted. The tip of the right thumb, and tips of the third and fourth fingers are also worn and overpainted.. I believe this is from the original child-owner who who wanted her dolly to suck her thumb! The newer wig is in good condition with cardboard pate attached, and nicely matches the color of the eye-brows. Baby doll wears an cotton window-pane check ivory dressing gown with lace trim and pink threading, and matching bonnet. The dress is quite beautiful with a pleated bodice and lace-trimmed neckline. The dress is lined with a white cotton slip. The dressing gown has a few spots of old staining. We have washed and ironed the layette, and it is free of odor.A few pale pink nylon flowers have been added to this antique, if not original, gown. Baby is barefoot and fancy-free and awaiting her adoption! WE SHIP USPS. AS ALWAYS, THANK YOU FOR VIEWING OUR DOLL. WE APPRECIATE YOU! AFFILIATIONS
