Antique BAKELITE Rare Chunky Beaded Necklace Vintage Large Amber Oxblood Faturan

Description: Description: Listed here is a beautiful vintage necklace with bakelite and wooden beads. To start; this is only loosely a necklace - it’s several antique beads on a length of leather cord. I strongly suspect the cord isn’t original, so please note that. Further, I suspect this may be a vintage Turkish Faturan necklace, but do not know for certain. Faturan style beads were made originally made in the early 1900’s with leftover carvings of amber with things like bakelite. These beads were made up until the 1940’s. Of those present, three of the beads test for bakelite (the amber focal bead and the two oxblood beads. The other four beads are brass and wood. Condition details follow below. Thanks for looking! Condition: Fair to Good vintage condition. Again, the cord isn’t original. There is general wear to the beads from use, age, and storage. Some discoloration and fading to the wood beads. Measurements: The leather cord is 31’’ long. The focal bead is 1 ½’’ across and maybe ¾’’ wide. Marks/Signatures: None.
