Description: Antique BALL IDEAL MASON Glass Canning Jar wGlass Lid, Wire Carrier Stand Click images to enlarge Description ANTIQUE BALL JAR & CARRIER Antique glass ball jar measuring about 7" in height, 3-3/4" across the bottom and 3" across the glass lid top. Marked BALL IDEAL PAT'D JULY 14, 1908 and "3" on the base, it is complete with wire bracket latch which threads through the criss-cross guide in the lid top and into the jar collar sides. Housed in the old wire stand with loop construction, twisted ends and simple wire hanger, condition is very nice with a large chipped area on one side of the lid as shown - the wire carrier is a bit catawampus from age and use - does not detract. Jar seats neatly into the carrier and stays firmly in place - wire has a bit of patination/discoloration (not rust) from age. A neat old set - it was hanging from a rafter in the basement of our home when purchased. Fun addition to any collection or display! If questions, please contact me - thanks!
