Description: This is a lovely Antique Silver Betel Box from Burma (Myanmar). The cover of the box is exquisite. The piece dates from the early 1900's. This delicately repoussed silver container was purchased in Bangkok in the early 1970's by my father during one of his quarterly buying trips for his Antique Shop in Penang, Malaysia. The box was purchased in Bangkok’s well established jewelry district bordered by Silom Road and Surawong Road. Condition Description: there is a noticeable dent (Picture #23) as well as at least three stratches on the side & bottom of the box otherwise in Good Condition. Please note the is also heavy lime paste residue inside the container. Please review pictures closely in regards to condition of this box. The box has not been polished and retains it’s original antique patina. Applying silver polish would drastically change the box’s appearance if you prefer a shinier / newer looking piece.
