Description: Rare find. Elegant art deco style German turquoise porcelain vase from the 1920s. The background is done in a mottled turquoise glaze, hand painted with long green stems and white flowers. The two handles and upper rim are painted in gold leaf. The bottom of the vase has the makers mark CT ALTWASSER GERMANY 28, with an eagle logo above it. In overall good condition. No breaks anywhere, but there is a small chip in the top rim which could be touched up, see photos for most accurate description. An original owner signed her name on the bottom and dated 1929. German merchant Carl Tielsch founded the Altwasser factory in 1845, which grew quickly with much success. Altwasser factory porcelain pieces are known for their high quality and artistic values and remain highly collectible today. Measures: 10” H x 6” wide across 2 handles. Base is 3 ½” diameter, top diameter is 3 3/8”.
