Description: A Rare Antique Couldon Ceramic Platter Early 20th century, late Art Nouveau period. A beautiful and very hard to find design featuring hand-coloured floral sprays against an ivory coloured ground and painted 'feathered' edge. Fully marked verso with both impressed and painted marks and also a retailers mark, as shown. This platter isn't mint, but it's a pretty good representative example that would help complete a set and still looks pretty good on display. It's the only piece I have from this range from Cauldon, obtained from a very old estate clearance. Seldom seen and a nice find. Dimensions: Approx 42 x 32.5 cms Condition: The platter isn't perfect but presents reasonably well for age and is far from being a write off. There is all over age-related crazing, very typical of this period of china. There has been slight dirt ingress in places, with a few areas to the face appearing slightly shadowed or orchred...all of which I've tried to highlight in the photos. There is a short (1.5 inch) hairline...visible at the rear rim edge. A tiny fleabite away to the rim edge (as shown) and various slight surface marks and imperfections as shown.
