Description: We are offering a true antique creamer and sugar set. This set was introduced in 1884 by Challinor and Taylor Co of Tarentum, Pennsylvania. They were only in business from 1884 until 1891. The pattern is No 28. It is also called Oval Medallion or Oval Panel. This set is handle painted in an orange floral design. These are substantial pieces. The creamer pitcher stands 5 1/2 inches at the spout. The base is 3 3/4 by 2 1/2 inches. The sugar bowl is 6 inches to the top of the finial and the base is 5 1/2 inches by 4 inches. There are some condition issues. PLEASE look at the photo gallery. The creamer has rough feet and considering the age of the glass I am not sure if it was made that way or fleabites. You can really only tell by feeling the base. The sugar bowl is a different story. There are lid chips on the edge of the sugar bowl. I have photographed them and the images are in the gallery. The inside of the lid has some dark coloring which is part of the glass. This is not unusual for this age and for EAPG. There is also a chip on the bottom of the foot. The paint on the sugar does show wear as well as you can see in the photos. This is however a very uncommon set and displays beautifully! The bright colors stand out from the white glass.
