Description: This beautiful white crackle-glazed porcelain vase features a pair of Chinese guardian lions (also known as foo dogs, lion dogs, or shishi), symbols of luck, prosperity, and royalty. The vase measures 4-1/4" in width and 8-3/4" in height, and weighs 844 grams. Both rings in the lions’ mouths were repaired before my father acquired this piece. The vase comes with a wooden stand and a custom-fit silk box, measuring 6-3/8" wide, 12-1/2" high, and 5-1/4" deep—for both display and storage. While the exact age of the vase is unknown (it could be from the Republic Period or even older), it does bear an unidentified signature on the base.I want to provide an honest view of both the strengths and flaws of this piece, so please carefully examine the photos as they form an integral part of the description. To avoid any risk of damage, I do not clean my pieces. The item will be shipped via USPS Priority Mail or FedEx 2Day with signature confirmation. Let me know if you have any questions._ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _This piece is part of a collection of approximately 30 items, including ceramics and paintings, that my late father acquired in Hong Kong in 1977, shortly after China's Cultural Revolution. While not all the pieces in the collection come with certificates of authenticity, I am confident in their age, having grown up surrounded by them (I am now in my sixties). Although I’m not an expert on these items, my lack of formal knowledge may actually work to your benefit. I will be posting more of these Chinese artworks, so please stay tuned!_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _C05
