Description: Starting bid price of this item is significantly reduced for a limited period of time. Have seen only a few, and only in reference books, of this type of Han cicada among quite many of those Han cicadas in simple carving form. Took it to Sotheby's in Manhattan years ago.The young man who was the appraiser asked me to wait and let him show this to his head of the team. He then came back and said it is a Han cicada, and suggest me to consign it to their coming auction. I decided to keep it for a while because it was something more than just an antique collectible to me at that time. In a very elegant form with delicate carved lines that indicated veins of the wings and body sections. With a hue of very light green, not grey as shown in the photos.
