Description: Bonham “perfection” air pump. Bonham Mfg Co Chicago. This pump earned the name of “perfection” in its time, as nothing was like this …. 22” high a 17” stroke with 3. cylinders operated as ONE…. Cyl #1 1-3/4” bore Cyl #2 1-1/4” bore Cyl #3 3/4” bore Much like our higher psi air compressor today with 3 -4 cylinders whereas the larger bore would start out compressing atmospheric pressure or 14.7 and bring it up pass it thru a reed type valve/check to the next cylinder smaller bore increase pressure more to the next and repeat. Whereas the smallest was working more so at that high psi buildup. Anyway this is the principle yet with out the valve if I can say …. Well. Working together the outcome is similar and you can get the higher psi from that smaller bores and the 1-3/4” bore is keeping that volume moving. For shallow diving this thing would work for sure as well in fire/smoke situations and no doubt the best choice for tires and other uses….. hey I remember when I was a young kid my dad flipping out when he came home and I was on the bottom of the pool with a bucket over my head. Breathing just fine…. I drilled a hole in bucket hooked a hose to it and my buddy was pumping a cheap little sears bicycle pump…. Dad didn’t like that :-). But hey it works…. This got has 3 cylinders… oh boy that would have screamed …. No hose/fill whip with this pump…. Long gone. Beautiful pump. Can use a do over and some time or keep as is…. A true collectors items. Most have been scrapped. Soon this will be worth a fortune. Worth a lot more cleaned up with hose and all. A great project…. Hey dive in your pool and have your wife pump……no wait. You might not want to do that ?? :^) This pump can be put on display as it is. Some buy them to do just that. Others want a project. Doing a full rebuild. Old look or a polished brass new look. We sell them as is. However. For an additional fee we will rebuild and get big pumping like the day it was made. No end to what you can have us do for a price. Or you do yourself. Just like to tell you. These pumps are a great affordable way to have a mechanical pump that was widely used in the diving community …. No end to what you can do with gauges, volume tanks and hook up to your helmet for display or use if you really want to…. Tell me what you’re thinking of doing. Maybe we can help. Feel free to make an offer on anything you see..
