Description: Offered for sale is a beautiful antique EAPG glass OPEN COMPOTE, introduced in 1916 by Indiana Glass of Dunkirk, Indiana, U.S.A. The pattern is their item no. 157, also called BIRD AND STRAWBERRY. It features a design of flying birds and strawberries (picture 4) in raised relief. An ornate medallion center and a border around the rim complete the pattern, and the rim has been worked into a scallop shape. The BIRD AND STRAWBERRY pattern was introduced in 1916. The bowl measures 7 3/4 inches (19.7cm) in diameter at the rim, and stands 6 inches (15.2cm) tall. The foot measures 4 inches (10.2cm) in diameter. A U.S. quarter is shown in the third picture, to give an accurate impression of the size at a glance. It is in excellent condition with no cracks, scratches or repairs. There is no discoloration or cloudiness in the glass. All of my items are from a SMOKE FREE home. Watch for the other fine antique and EAPG glass items I'm offering this week!
