In good working condition with a lot of ware and some rust. Also there is a repair on the tape at around 48ft, see pictures 11 & 12. When it was repaired they reversed the sides of the tape. I believe they used 2 small brass rivets for this repair. The tape itself is very thin. This makes it very easy to reel up. It also makes it easy to get damaged. Tape has some dents and bent in some areas. Tape also has rust spots and needs to be cleaned off. The end of the tape or loop is made of brass. Tape is marked Eighths The L.S. Starrett co. Athol MASS U.S.A. Quick Reading Pat. No. 14,409. Case is steel with some brass parts. Case is around 3-3/8 inch diameter and 9/16 inch deep without the handle. Case has a small brass roller where tape goes into the case, see picture. The small part of the handle that you hold when reeling the tape in and outside edge of the case is brass also, see pictures.
