Description: This adorable little birdcage is so cute! The scalloped plaque above the working door reads HENDRYX and it features a wooden swing, wood perch, two milk glass feeders/waterers, and a wooden finial atop with a wicker chain attached. The chain is not original -but old- and can easily be removed if desired. Inside on the swing is a little stuffed and feathered bird, gray in color, with sweet dark eyes. The base tray measures 12.5" long x 9" wide and the overall height is 15" tall. The wicker chain is 23.5" long and the four legs are cone shaped. The cage attaches securely to the base tray with four clips, and the bottom side of the tray has original baby blue and rose pink paint on the embossing. Those Victorians, they decorated everything! The feeders are marked Made in Japan, and Made in Occupied Japan. The Occupied one also has an original paper sticker on it. Neither one is damaged or cracked and attach firmly to the wires which hold them in place. It is unlikely one would use this to contain a live bird....best to consider it for decoration only. There are some breaks in the wires on the upper portion- see close-ups. All paint and patina is original and I brushed it with a soft brush to remove cobwebs but there is still dust in the crevices.
