This is a collection of engravings in 4 format, divided into 2 volumes in one tome, divided by as many engraved frontispieces with views of the monuments of Rome. The illustrations are numbered 1-100 in the first volume, which refers to ancient monuments, engraved on copper, 2 for each sheet. The second volume, on "Modern Rome", contains plates numbered 1-70, engraved on copper, 2 for each sheet. The engravings are all the work of Domenico Pronti, well known for his collections of views of the Eternal City for use by tourists on the Grand Tour, and self-publisher of his albums. The date suggested by the bibliographies is about 1795; the views are based on models by Giuseppe Vasi and Giovan Battista Piranesi. Etching, impressed on contemporary paper, in excellent condition.
