Description: Antique Franz Pallme-König & Co Steinschönau Hand Painted Satin Glass Vase Pair. A gorgeous pair of later Victorian Period Franz Pallme-König Japonism/Art Nouveau style floral and bamboo vases. The hand painting is beautifully executed and the enamel is heavy and in very good condition for the age. The color scheme is cream/sand with fall colors of yellow, browns, green, orange, and white. The satin glass body is smooth with little to nonimal wear marks and scratching. The vases are clean and were used as intended. There is still lingering stain on the intererior of each vase. The markers mark of "PK" can be found on the bottom of each vase. This mark is also referenced as "FPK" as the "F is read as inversed to the left of the "PK." History of the FPK refinery includes founding in "1786 by Ignaz Pallme Koenig probably with Ignaz Ullmann - the company was called "Pallme & Ullmann". From 1851 to 1873, the company presented itself at world exhibitions in London, Paris and Vienna under the name "Franz Pallme-König & Co." Please note, the PK/FPK mark is often mis-identified as Krystallglasfabrik Freiherr von Poschinger. However, this glass was most likely made in Steinschönau, Czech Republic. The vases each measure approximately 12"H x 3.5" at base and 5.5" at widest part of body. HUT2 ___________________________Please read the description and view photos.
