Description: French brass figural fire place screen with dancing woman playing tambourine, central flame urn finial with lambs tongue plinth, eight flanking pierced chased folding fans, decorative acanthus and bell flower motif, and resting on a scrolled acanthus beaded swag base with a central mythological figural medallion. Early 19th century. An absolutely gorgeous piece that will add an abundance of style to your fireplace or as a backdrop on a console. This piece has a great patina to it but can be polished up to brighten it up if one should want to. It is missing a keeper to lock down one side of the fans although the fans are held snug when closed back into the keeper. Also has the tip missing on one side of the decorative piece ornament on the top which really doesn’t detract from this gorgeous piece.
