This is the early model of Longchamp oyster plates with the wells reproducing shape of natural oyster shell. It features white shell-shaped wells for 6 oysters on a dark green background with delicate brown edge on the outer circle. Beautifully preserved shiny piece in great condition. Longchamp pottery, established in Burgundy, France, became renowned for its exquisite earthenware and faience designs. The "Terre de Fer" mark on its plates signifies durable, high-quality ironstone pottery, prized for its resilience and elegance. Founded in 1832, Longchamp pottery thrived as a symbol of French artistry, blending tradition with functionality.
